100_0127This week’s teacher of the week is Mrs. Wilt. She is twenty-five years old. She went to college at the University if Pittsburgh. She started working here last year. In the summer, she works at Kennywood with Mr. Domiano. She teaches math, reading, religion, and spelling. In her spare time, Mrs. Wilt reads and does crafts. She will also be redecorating and remodeling since she is buying a house tomorrow! When she was a child she wanted to be a teacher. Later, she wanted to be in law enforcement. Her plan was to join the army as a military policewoman, then train under themĀ to be a forensic pathologist. Then, a car accident ruined my knee, so the army was out. She went back to teaching. Her most memorable moment here was last year when a student gave her a handmade card thanking her for helpingĀ  to understand and enjoy math again. She said it made her feel great to help a student!

Panorama of the East Coast

This Jan. 29 panorama of much of the East Coast, photographed by one of the Expedition 30 crew members aboard the International Space Station, provides a look generally northeastward: Philadelphia-New York City-Boston corridor (bottom-center); western Lake Ontario shoreline with Toronto (left edge); Montreal (near center). An optical illusion in the photo makes the atmospheric limb and light activity from Aurora Borealis appear "intertwined." Image Credit: NASA
