Ms. Allen said that her doctor told her that she is on the safe side of 50. She went to college at the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. She started teaching here in the fall of 1998. The subjects she teaches are third grade math, science, social studies, and religion. She said that she does not have any other jobs. She said that she wanted to be a teacher when she was little. In her spare time she reads books, plays with her granddaughter, and her dog. Her most memorable moment was when most of her students learned all of their times tables.

Panorama of the East Coast

This Jan. 29 panorama of much of the East Coast, photographed by one of the Expedition 30 crew members aboard the International Space Station, provides a look generally northeastward: Philadelphia-New York City-Boston corridor (bottom-center); western Lake Ontario shoreline with Toronto (left edge); Montreal (near center). An optical illusion in the photo makes the atmospheric limb and light activity from Aurora Borealis appear "intertwined." Image Credit: NASA
