The 2010 Spring Book Fair started in our school on March 2nd.  The last day of the Book Fair will be March 4th.  Go and buy your favorite books, and you can get some erasers, pencils, bookmarks, pens, and highlighters with your change!

Pittsburgh Penguins Update

The Pittsburgh Penguins won their first game back from the Olympics beating the Sabres 3-2. The Penguins have made a trade with the Florida Panthers giving away a second round draft pick for Jordan Leopold. He is a new defenseman for the Penguins playing in number 4.

Vancouver Olympics Final Medal Count

At the end of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the United States had 37 medals. Those medals were: 9 Gold, 15 Silver, and 13 Bronze. Germany followed with 30 and Canada with 26.

Boy’s Basketball

The Boy’s varsity and junior varsity teams have both advanced in the playoffs. The varsity team plays Saturday, March 6th, against MQA at 4:00, at Greensburg Central Catholic. MQA has beaten the varsity team twice this year. The junior varsity black team plays Friday March 5th, against Aquinas Academy, starting time: 6:30, at Geibel.

Pittsburgh Panthers Basketball

The Pitt Panthers have gone 3-1 since February 12th.  Their wins coming against Marquette, third ranked Villanova, and St. John’s. The Panthers only loss came against Notre Dame. They have two games left until the Big East Tournament. They play against Providence on March 3rd and Rutgers on March 6th.

The Pittsburgh Pirates started spring training today, facing the New York Yankees. Hopefully the Pirates can get off to a good start against the Yanks. The Pirates are very optimistic about this season coming in with good players. Hopefully the Pirates do well.
