The Pirates are on a streak, but it is a lousy one. The Pirates have lost three games in a row, two of which we lost to the Cincinatti Reds. They apparantly can beat the Pirates and have already won the series. Hopefully the Pirates can get back on track and improve their season that is supposed to be better than last year.

Thursday, May 6th, was Olympic Day. Mr. Brose, the gym teacher, had a different game for each class. There were many other fun things going on, but the best was the pie in the face. In first place was Mrs. Zakrzwski, second was Mr. Domiano, and third was Miss Plevel. When it was Mr. D’s turn, he brought Kennedi up to stand infront of him to take the pie for him…or as he thought. Just when she was about to get hit by Angela E., Kennedi moved and Angela got Mr. D! In the end, both Mr. Dorko and our student council president, Luke D., both recieved a pie in the face. They were both unhappy, but then Luke said not to trust Mrs. Stockey, who pied him.

During the Spanish Mass last week, the eighth grade girls celebrated the traditional Spanish celebration of turning 15, called a Quinceanera. The girls took off their old shoes and put on high heels and they gave baby dolls to younger girls as signs of growing up, and not being a little girl anymore.
